Today censorship is a very hot topic among people of all ages. Some are for censorship and some are against it. When television networks air televisions shows or movies, they should not have to edit out the bad words.
The television networks should have to edit out the bad material because young people around the world will think that it is ok for them to do and use the kind of material they are seeing on television. Some say that by showing violent shows or no editing out profanity, the young children will start to use these actions in their life. The children will believe that it is ok for them to go around using violence a curse words in their everyday life.
Although I am for against some censorship, I am also for some censorship on television. There is no reason why the television networks have to be showing nudity in their programs. Some people may want this, but there is no reason for it. There is no reason a young child watching television with his parents should be seeing any kind of nudity on the television. Why would the networks have to show that anyway? By not showing this scene, they can still get their point across some other way.
I believe that if the children have the right guidance in their life they will not use any of the violent or obscene language they see and hear on television. If they have the proper parenting, their parents will tell them not to use any of the obscene things that they see on television in their life. If by chance the children do use profanity, they should be punished in some way by their parents so that they know that it is not ok for them to use that kind of behavior. By doing this, the parents are showing their children that it is not proper for them to be going around doing all the things that they see on television.
If by some chance the children do not have the proper guidance in their life, then they will continue to use profanity in their life. Many people say that, one of the reasons why children do not have as much respect for other people today is because they see what other children are doing and saying on television and they see that it is ok for them to use bad words.
Television networks have taken steps to make sure people are aware of the content of the program that they are watching. Many of the networks now have ratings for their programs. The first category is TV-Y. This type of programming would be suitable for children of all ages. It does not matter if they program was animated or live action, it is appropriate for children no matter how young or old they are. The next category is TV-Y7. This is designed for children that are seven years of age and older. This type of program may require children to distinguish from “make-believe and reality.” TV-G is the next category. This is made for a general audience. Many parents may let their children watch this type of programming by themselves. The next category, parents are advised to watch this with their child or not let their child watch this at all. TV-14 “might contain material that parents feel is unsuitable for their children.
