Essay on Frank Lloyd Wright

This is an essay example on Frank Lloyd Wright:
Frank Lloyd Wright an outstanding architect in the history of this country. He built some of the country’s most outstanding pieces of architecture. Today people still see his work and are amazed by the outstanding work. Some people may not consider him one of the greatest architects, but he was one of the greatest architects that lived.

The famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, was born in the Richland Center, Wisconsin on June 8, 1867. His father, William Carey Wright, was a Baptist Minister and music teacher. His mother, Anna Lloyd Jones Wright, made comments of her son becoming an architect and it was her destiny to make him one.

Frank attended college at the University of Wisconsin in 1884. His mind was already set to be an architect. Although there were no fields for architecture at the university, he remained for a while and took engineering classes. This is where he got some architectural experience from doing construction on the college. In 1887 Wright left the university and went to Chicago where he designed his own building while working for Joseph Lyman Silsbee. Later in 1887 he left Joseph and would become a designer for the firm of Adler and Sullivan. Wright became their chief draftsman. Sullivan loved Wright’s work. But in 1893 Wright left the firm and made his own office in Chicago. (more…)

Astronomy and Astrology Essay

This is a sample essay on Comparison and Contrast of Astronomy and Astrology:
In this paper I will attempt to contrast Astronomy and Astrology. Astronomy and Astrology are both sciences. They sound alike in pronunciation, and in some ways are similar in science, but overall, are different. Astronomy is a science that studies motion of bodies, evolution, composition, distance, and scattered matter in the universe. Astrology is a science that studies the things that happen on earth as they relate to specific positions of the sun, moon, and other planets. These sciences are similar in the fact that they both deal with studying celestial bodies in the universe. They are different in the purpose of the study.

In Astronomy, scientists study celestial bodies in an effort to make predictions on the path of stars, the moon, planets, comets, asteroids, and the sun. These predictions are important in the fact that, we can use that information to predict disaters, such as asteroids, or comets that may be on a collision course with earth. Also this information can be used to better understand the complexity of the universe that we live in. Historically, there have been scientists with many different ideas of how the universe worked. Originally it was thought that the earth was the center of the universe and that everything revolved around the earth. This theory of the universe has changed over time, and this is credited to the astronomers who worked diligently over time using new and improved tools of technology such as telescopes, to predict accurately, the way that our universe works. Anthropomorphism Essay

This is a sample essay on Anthropomorphism:
In light of the description of anthropomorphism, I think it is only fitting to use the novels Charlotte’s Web and Watership Down to demonstrate them. While both of these novels show animals behaving in different manners, they are both uncharacteristic of normal animal behaviour. Charlotte’s Web shows animals behaviour as primarily human while Watership Down demonstrates animals behaving mostly as animals. This said, we see that both these novels show their characters with human traits, however they are all confined to their physical limitations as animals. A perfect example of this is Charlotte, from Charlotte’s Web.

However the activities, physical and mental, actions and behaviour demonstrated by the rabbits in Watership Down are typically the things that humans would expect from rabbits. (more…)

This is a example essay on Death of a Saleman:
The play, “A Death of a Salesman“, is one of America’s favorite tragedies. The play is one that every man can relate to. The play involves real characters in real situations. The play demonstrates the great American struggle to make it in the world. “A Death of a Salesman” also shows a struggling relationship between a son and his father. These facts are why this play will always be a continuing classic.

The play deals with two major struggles that every person can relate to. The more major of the two is the downfall of Willie Loman. Willie is a guy who has outlived his career. Willie is out of money and out of luck. The second of these two struggles is Biff trying to do something with his life. Biff is trying not to go down the same track that his father has gone down. Marfan Syndrome Research Paper

This is an example research paper on Marfan Syndrome:
Marfan Syndrome is one of many conginenital heart defects that plague many new-borns. One in every one hundred babies born has at least one type of a congenital heart defect. But, only one in every twenty thousand births has this certain type of congenital heart defect. It is caused by mutations of the fibrillin I precursor (FBNI). The gene for Marfan syndrome is nine thousand six hundred and sixty two bases long.

There is only one pair of genes that cause Marfan syndrome. It can be inherited from a parent affected by the condition or from an unaffected parent who had/has a mutation in his sperm or her egg. Only one of the parents has to be infected with it for the child to have it. Two thirds of people that have Marfan syndrome got it from a parent with it and a fourth of them occur as a result of spontaneous mutation of the gene that causes Marfan syndrome. (more…)
